Disposal and recycling of plastic strapping

Plastic strapping is an unmanageable waste material. It’s unruly and fills up a regular bin very quickly – plus, it’s a safety hazard!

Store strapping in a Plastic Bag Stand and minimize it in a baler

Plastic strapping is necessary for packaging and transport, but once used, it becomes uncontrollable waste that overfloats your bins, increasing the risk of accidents.

With this simple Mil-tek solution, you can keep your plastic strapping waste under control. Collect and store plastic strapping in strategically placed Plastic Bag Stands throughout your premises, and compact it in a Mil-tek baler to reduce its volume.

Challenges with plastic strapping

Facilities that frequently use plastic strapping for packaging or other purposes are likely to experience the following challenges:

  • The material quickly takes up space in the bins, requiring them to be changed more often
  • Accidents caused by the uncontrollable material – tripping accidents or accidents involving trucks or equipment
  • Challenges with proper disposal – and recycling – of plastic strapping

Store, Compact & Recycle

Store the plastic straps in a durable plastic bag. When it’s time to empty the bag, place it in a waste baler that can compact the material with up to 90% in volume reduction – such as a Mil-tek A305 baler.

The baled strapping can be sent to a recycling facility where the plastic strapping is shredded and then “washed” to remove small impurities. After this process, the plastic can then be resold and even turned into new plastic products.

Recycling Plastic Strapping – a sustainable effort

Debris made of plastic can stay in landfills for hundreds of years. Plastic strapping should therefore be recycled into new plastic products, just like all other plastic materials.

If you correctly dispose of the material, recycling plastic strapping reduces the demand for fossil fuels to create new plastic, so your company is making a sustainable effort.
