Plastic strapping or banding can be troublesome to dispose of; it fills a lot of room in bins and represents a tripping hazard if left on the floor. The Mil-tek Plastic Banding Clipper eliminates this risk by shredding banding into small flakes making them easier to transport and dispose of.The machine is powered by a standard 220v power supply and a timer control allows the user to pre-program the run time. The banding is fed into a funnel opening. Once the machine takes hold, the banding is pulled automatically and cut by a rotating blade into small 10cm pieces, which are then gathered in a drum below.
The Band Clipper boasts several safety features including a lock-out switch, a gear speed dial.
It is powered by a standard 220V motor.
Feed the banding into the funnel-shaped opening.
Make sure the banding is correctly fed in to avoid potential blockages.
Banding is collected in a receptacle housed inside the drum.
Release the safety latch to open the drum.
A piece of banding of approximately 1m takes just 1.8 seconds to feed through and be clipped. This equates to 2000m per hour.
Most banding has some overlap when it is sealed. This can be fed into the machine, though make sure to feed it in the correct direction. For further information, refer to your user manual or watch the instructional video.
Plastic strapping up to approximately 34mm. If you have strapping that is broader, check with a Mil-tek consultant.
Yes it can cut steel banding and steel wires. However, it is likely to dull the blade of the knives more quickly than cutting plastic strapping. If in doubt, ask your Mil-tek rep or Technician for guidance.
Manufacturers that handle large volumes of plastic packaging will find the Band Clipper a useful addition.
Strapping can fill a large amount of empty space in bins, which in turn require regular changing. Not only will it free up space in mixed-waste bins, it reduces risk of injury or accident.
Facilities that regularly use forklift and pallet trucks in their daily operations can enjoy the benefits of a Mil-tek Band Clipper.
Loose banding and strapping can easily become entangled in the wheels of forklifts, causing expensive delays and risking serious injury. A Band Clipper eliminates this risk, simultaneously creating a neater, tidier workplace.
