Dubai's iconic 5-star report has been acknowledged for their ongoing commitment to sustainability and the environment
Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai’s iconic 5-star resort, has recently received a certification acknowledging its sustainability efforts.
The EarthCheck certification is given to venues that make continuous efforts to promote sustainable practices such as recycling and waste reduction, as well as venues that fight for socio-economic causes. Atlantis,
The Palm first received Bronze status in October 2019 and now, to receive EarthCheck Silver, they made additional efforts to boost sustainability.
The initiatives were coordinated by the resort’s Green Committee, who made incredible recycling efforts: they recycled 800,000kg of waste in total, and 105,000 litres of used cooking oil.
In addition, they also made changes to the resort to reduce electricity consumption. Atlantis, The Palm is now 60% powered by LED lighting.
The resort also recycled over 23,300 kg of used linens and biodegradable cleaning products and donated meals to more than 22,300 people.
Atlantis, The Palm is the third hotel in Dubai to receive the EarthCheck Silver certification and, according to managing director Timothy Kelly, the resort will continue to seek new ways of promoting sustainable practices.
